MAPGEO2004

MAPGEO2004 is a geoid modeling and height-conversion tool developed by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). It provides Brazil’s official 2004 geoid model, allowing users to compute geoid height (undulation) at specified coordinates and convert GNSS-derived ellipsoidal heights to orthometric heights consistent with Brazil’s vertical reference system. The model is derived from nationwide gravity data and GNSS/leveling observations, supporting reliable height transformations for surveying, engineering, cartography, and GIS workflows.

While MAPGEO2004 remains available for legacy projects and compatibility, IBGE has since released newer MAPGEO models with expanded coverage and improved precision. Users should select the version that best matches their project requirements and reference standards.

MAPGEO2004 is developed by IBGE. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 2.0 and 3.0. The names of program executable files are MAPGEO2004.exe, MAPGEO2010.exe.
